HOW MUCH DOES SOLAR POWER SYSTEM COST? A solar power system is highly customized to a customer's needs and many factors determine pricing therefore a standard price can not be given here. I HAVE A XXXX SQUARE FOOT HOUSE. HOW BIG SYSTEM SHALL I GET? Energy cost does not depend on the size of a house, it depends on energy usage.  For example, a family of 4 living in a 1,500 square foot house in desert area with a pool is going to have higher energy needs than a person living alone in a 3,000 square foot house near the ocean that does not have a pool.  To determine the correct system size, we need to see electrical bill.

CAN YOU NOT DETERMINE THE SYSTEM SIZE BY AVERAGE FOR XXXX SQUARE FOOT HOME? Unfortunately one customer's average is not the same as other customer's average, therefore we still need the electrical bill.

IS SOLAR REALLY WORTH IT? We think so, but this is more of a personal decision.  For a system that costs about $ 12,000.00 and saves on average $ 160.00 a month will save $ 1,920.00 per year and will pay itself off in 6 years and 3 months.  Looking at this as an investment, annual return is 16%.  There are not too many investments out there that will get this kind of return.

WHCIH IS BETTER: LEASING, POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT, OR PURCHASE? Each has advantages and drawbacks.  We can try to explain it here, but that will be long enough to look like a novel and will probably be very confusing.  We know our customer's always have many questions when it comes to this topic, so we go over this during our consultation meeting.

HOW LONG WILL THE SOLAR POWER SYSTEM LAST? Inverters are warranted to work for 10 years or more.  Solar modules are warranted to be defect free for 10 years and output will not decrease below a certain amount for 25 years.  We only use the highest quality modules, inverters, and components in the market.  Systems installed in the 1980's are still operational today and with the improved technology used to manufacture components today we predict that solar power systems should last more than 30 years with decent power output.

WHY ARE OTHER ENERGY EFFICIENCY UPDATES RECOMMENDED BFORE GOING SOLAR? Solar prices have come down significantly in the past few years and continue to drop, but it is still much more expensive compared to other energy efficiency improvements.  For this reason the improvements are recommened.  As an example, replacing an incandescent light bulb with a $ 10.00 LED light bulb can reduce the size of the solar power system and save about $ 90.00 in system cost.
